The difference between solar panel TPT and PET

The solar panel back film is mainly divided into two types: fluorine-containing back film and fluorine-free back film. What's the difference between the two?

The fluorine-containing back film is divided into two kinds of double-sided fluorine (such as TPT) and single-sided fluorine (such as TPE); while the fluorine-free back film is usually made by laminating multiple layers of PET with an adhesive.

TPT refers to the use of DuPont's TEDLAR (trade name) PVF film as both sides of the solar back film, plus a layer of transparent PET in the middle for compounding, namely TEDLAR + PET + TEDLAR, hence the name TPT.

There is no absolute limit on the use of solar panel TPT and PET. Generally, we require the use of TPT materials for more than 50W, because in order to ensure the service life of the product. Therefore, TPT materials are generally preferred for high-power products. TPT materials have better insulation, corrosion resistance, UV resistance, better mechanical properties, and better stability.

For customers with better product requirements, TPT materials can be used for customers in products above 20W. For customers whose product requirements are not particularly high, it is recommended to use TPT materials for products over 50W. TPT material has better performance and longer service life than PET material, and is used in photovoltaics in high power products.
