How To Check Water Turbine

Water Turbine is a machine that converts the potential and kinetic energy of a stream of water into mechanical energy, which in turn drives an electric generator into electrical energy. Before the Water Turbine overhauled unit is put into operation, it must conduct a comprehensive inspection of the equipment before it can be formally put into operation. Otherwise, there will be no end of trouble.

I. Check before starting Water Turbine

(1) Remove debris from pressure pipe and volute;

(2) Clear the dirt from the air duct;

(3) Check whether the shear pin of the water guide mechanism is loose or damaged;

(4) Check if there is any debris in the generator internal air gap;

(5) Check whether the brake damper action is normal;

(6) Check the turbine main shaft sealing device;

(7) Check the collector ring, exciter brush spring pressure and carbon brushes;

(8) Check whether the various parts of the oil, water and gas systems are normal. The bearing oil level and oil color are normal

(9) Check whether the position of the governor is correct or not, and whether the opening limit mechanism is at zero position;

(10) Operate the butterfly valve and check the working condition of the travel switch;
